Brace Height ?

I was wondering if anyone can tell me how you adjust brace height on a bow, and what measurements does it effect when you do it? Does it change draw length, axle to axle length, or draw weight? THe tech guy at mathews says that the brace height on my lx is suppose to be 6 5/8, and that you measure it from the deepest part of the grip to the front of the string. Mine is measuring 6 1/2 to the front of the string. He says this is more than likely what is causing the mysterious popping noise in the string suppresors that I mentioned in another post. It causes the shooting string to set to deep into the suppresors. So if anyone can help me with this, I would appreciate it. Thanks, and good luck this season. PS. I forgot to mention that I took a 174 pound dressed 9 point wednesday night, but I broke out the q2xl to do it, because I was having problems getting the lx tuned. I want to take a nice doe with the lx, so I am getting it ready, so I feel confident with it. I know this belongs on the bowhunting board, but I couldn' t help myself.:D

RE: Brace Height ?

If you twist your cable, it will increase brace height slightly and will also increase draw length. Therefore, if you do put a few more twists in your cable, you should also put a few twists into your string. When done, you should check your draw weight, since this will put more stress on your limbs and you do not want to exceed their maximum rating.
