Making a turkey broadhead

DeerT' s post on the Gobbler Getter reminded me to post this idea that' s been floating around in my head for quite a while.

I' ve been considering taking one of the 100 grain wasp jackhammers with the 1 3/4" cut and making it a turkey head. I think that if you blunted the tip and dulled the blades, you could knock the snot out of a turkey with it.

What do you guys think?

You still need razor sharp heads to kill a turkey. What I did was, I took a 125 grain 4 blade head, and cut two opposing blades to the point that they made spurs. That brought the broadhead' s weight real close to my 100 grains that I normally shoot. Razor sharp cutting edge, two spurs to slow penetration.

I knocked the snot out of a turkey a couple of years ago wit a Jak-Hammer. No need to change it in my opinion.

Rangeball, If you' re looking to keep your arrow in
the bird you might consider using a adder point behind
your BH. It will stop your arrow and inflict a lot
of damage. I,too, believe your blades should be razor
sharp.

Going one better than the adder point, is the Rocket
Sledgehammer:D...3 1/2" cut. This baby puts a hurtin'
on turkeys[:-].

Wow... What a HUGE cut...

Thanks for all your input. I shoot rocket meteorites for deer, 1.5" cut, I guess I' ll try them if a turkey walks by my stand and see how they do...
