RE: Q: MY FIRENDS arrow is kicking hard core
If his arrows were shooting fine before he pumped up the draw weight, and are shooting bad now, there is an obvious solution. Go back to the poundage he was shooting before.
That' s about all the advice anyone can really give you because you didn' t give enough information. What brand, size and length arrows is he shooting, what kind of fletching, what weight points, what bow it is -including model, cam, draw length- whether he shoots fingers or release, what rest is on the bow... That' s the basic stuff we' d need to even try to give specific advice. Best guess according to what you told us, like C903 says, is his arrows are underspined for the extra draw weight. |
RE: Q: MY FIRENDS arrow is kicking hard core
well I would never had pushed up the draw weight.. if anything I would nock it down to minimum draw weight and then shoot them.. to see if they are underspined or if they fit now.. they will never tune right if not matched up properly.. if it works and they arent kicking then try paper tune to see if this is right.. Am I on the right track guys??

Close, Josh. You don' t want to go from one extreme to the other, ie. bottomed out to as low as it will go.
If I wanted to raise my draw weight and HOPED to use the same arrows, I' d go back to where the arrows were shooting good and start raising the draw weight in increments. 1 turn on each bolt, fire for effect. When the arrows started shooting squirrely, I' d back off a half turn and fire for effect. The problem with doing that is it will definitely put you right at the raw edge of the arrow' s spine. It will work with field points. Maybe with mechs. But with fixed broadheads, you' ll probably have to work back down in draw weight to get them to fly. |
