Default Anyone shoot DARTON???

Doesn't anyone out there shoot darton bows? If you like darton then let me know! If you don't then let me know why. If you shoot them, then let me know what one you shoot. Do you guys like the c/p/s system? Please give me some feed back? It sure seems like there aren't many darton fans out there!!!<img src=icon_smile_sad.gif border=0 align=middle> ~DREW~

Drew, I shoot a darton, as do several others on this board I think. I love the CPS system and think it was very well designed. I shoot a Yukon xt and really like it, but I want something a bit faster. That is the only reason I would get a different brand of bow. I have a short draw length and want a faster bow so I can up my Ke a little. I am also considering the magnum 33 that you are asking about. I have shot one, but don't own one. It was a nice bow, especially for the money. If you are a Darton fan, get it I am sure you will be happy. The service you get from darton is incredible. I have shot small bows that had better qualities, but not much. And they cost more and don't have the CPS system. The Sq2 was quieter and had no recoil, but it was slower and quite a bit more expensive. I really liked the Ultra lite 31, I shot one side by side with the Mangnum and they were fairly simular in speed and recoil. I think the parker was a bit faster and had a bit more shock. But it is smaller and weighs only 3lbs(under actually). But darton was pretty close and had a better draw in my opinion.

If I were to get a small bow I was really leaning towards the Parker, but I have been hearing so much good stuff about how Darton runs thier company and treats thier cusomers I think I would get the Magnum 33. But I am really looking for a bow that will shoot in excess of 320 fps IBO. Like the Ultra 2 or bowtechs, or parker force multiplier. I don't really want to shoot that fast, and never could with a 26 inch draw and 60 to 65 lbs of draw weight. But I want the most effecient bow I can get so I can shoot a heavier arrow and still stay around 240 fps so I can up my Ke which is only like 45 ft/lbs right now. I would like to be closer to 60 ft/lbs.

If your are looking for good opinions on dartons, I will surely give you one and don't think you would regret buying one. But all the top brands offer something comparable that is built just as well and cost about the same roughly. Check out the G2 if you want to be more confused than you are now, its a nice little bow for the money.

Drew:

I have not shot either of the two Dartons you are considering, but I have a bow that I think is quite similar to both. It is a Darton/Proline Mountain 2000 with the CPS 2 system (earlier version). My bow has straight limbs like the Mag 33, but is 36&quot; A to A. It is the smoothest drawing bow that I have shot. It is actually very easy for me to draw 65# with this bow, and I had a shoulder operation last June. I think you would be pleased with either of the bows. The Mag 33 has a higher brace ht., and the Express has Darton's recurve limbs which I have heard many good things about. I haven't shot every bow out there (though I plan on shooting as many as I can next week at the Harrisburg show). I did own a HCA Carbon Force for about a month last year. My Darton is a better bow in most respects, except for the areas where, in my opinion, they are equal (noise and recoil). The Darton is easier to draw, has a better valley, yet a very positive draw stop, is faster, and is much easier to tune. (I had the MX1 cam on the HCA). I don't think you could go wrong with either one.

Avoid the inevitable until it is absolutely unavoidable!

Drew, there are several Darton shooters among us. Besides myself, I know that Len from Maryland, Davidmil and FLHunter all shoot Dartons. Its a great bow and worth considering. About the only thing they lack is advertising.

I'm assuming the only reason Len and Dave aren't replying is because they're at the petting zoo hoping to make that last score of the season. If I'm not mistaken, today is the last day of Marylands season.

I've owned three Dartons and loved them all. Mav Recurve, Cyclone 3D, and Executive Vegas.

I still have my Mav Recurve for my main hunting bow.

Darton is a highly underrated bow company. Customer service is TOP NOTCH as well- great people and a great company.

Yes, I shoot Dartons and love the bows. I have a Maverick Express Recurve which with silencers, large peep, stringloop at 29&quot; of draw, 70# is getting 309fps with a 350 grain arrow. My other bow is a Cyclone Express Longdraw that I shoot for target. Both bows are very smooth, accurate, and forgiving to shoot. Where I live there are not too many Darton shooters which leaves them wondering a bit about my bows. Great bows, just under advertised and under-rated in my opinion.

Aim Hard!

I have a Maverick. I only shoot to deer hunt.
I can shoot it pretty well considering that I don't practice much. I don't take long shots either. Anyway, it works for me.

Hi Drew,
Like I replied before about which bow to shoot I shoot Cyclone split limb and the Cyclone 3D and have had the Mavrick. Sold it to a friend he loves it. Anyway I shoot alot of tournaments year round, All of the ASA's and the IBO's
triple crown and their world tournaments, not to mention the locals. The Darton C/P/S system is great because if you look at the design of their C/P/S cam on
how almost round they are they really are not a cam. I mean when you look at the rest Hoyts, Mathews, etc they all have a peak point which is where you get
your string stretch from, not the C/P/S cams, their smooth. And lets look at the wall. Hoyts have a screw which loosens up or wears out, Mathews you have to drill a hole in the cam and put some kind of peg in it for a more solid wall.
Not the C/P/S the wall is apart of the cam. Look at the idler wheel. Darton came out with the largest one, look at the rest they now have a large idler wheel
why for a smoother draw and again less string stretch. I put on new strings and
cables when I received my cyclone 3d,it was a color thing I put on green/brown
strings , I have shot for two years with them and they have only stretched
1/4 inch. I'm going on three this year. All in all you can't beat a Darton bow.
I agree with the other guy their service is great. They are under rated, but
after talking with them I see why their so quiet. They don't need to spend big
money to advertise like the others. Their happy with word of mouth. They have
been around alot longer than the others. I hope this helps I'm not the greatest
at explaning things. Good Luck.
