Bob:

Ive got the Bushnell and have no complaints. It has taken a beating and is still reliable. The best advice I can give you for a rangefinder is to keep it handy. Ive seen more then one hunter miss a shot because the rangefinder was in his pack, or on the dash of the truck.

All of my hunting is spot/stalk and I consider my rangefinder as important as my release.

I used to have the Bushnell compact 600 til it was stolen. Now I have the Bushnell Scout. I have had good luck with both of them. I personally like the 6x magnification for the hunting I do. If you can find anyone with a 600, which they do not make anymore, that would be my first choice. I seen a couple after I got my Scout for around $150 -200.

I think the Bushnells are great, but I would look at several and find the one you like best. I liked the 600 the best due to the extra features it had.

I have a bushnell. Takes a lick' n and keeps on tick' n.

I' ve dropped it from a tree twice. The big kicker....I left it in my Mom' s lawn and it got rained on and then ran over by the lawn mower. Still works like new. I think I got really lucky with the whole lawn mower thing .
