string life

My bow string is 18 years old but I only shot it like ten times and it looks fine, should I replace it

Just IMO but I wouldn't take a chance. I would replace it. String costs a lot less than a new bow and doctor bills.

Definitely replace it. At that age It doesn't matter how much it has been shot. The string fibers break down and degrade on a molecular level. Compared to what could happen a new string is pretty inexpensive.

Yeah..It would be a good time to replace. Why take the chance. Contact the boys at VaporTrail and they can spin you up a set. Great strings, great customer service. Can't go wrong.

most bow manufacturers will tell you to replace your string and cable every two years or the first sign of damage.

String life is determined by the amounts of shot; normally 2000 and you're pushing it; however and string will dry out in time. If it's been 10 years it's time. I change my no less than two times a year and sometimes more. I shoot a lot.
