Old bow

I have a old parson compound bow that has been in the closet for about 15 years, is it still safe to draw it back. how long is the string safe to use?

If you have a shop near by drop in and get them to have a look at it.
Better safe than sorry. What brand bow is it and can you post a pic?

old bow

It is a pearson magnum ,i have had it about 20 years. It still looks like new but is set at 70# and i can't pull it back any more because of a old shoulder injury. I thought about getting the draw weight lowered .
I might be better off just getting a new bow.

if its been stored properly,
without extremes in temps and such
dont see why it still wont be a good bow
if poundage can be adjusted, see if it can work for you,
if not, yes modern bows offer much higher letoff and maybe new is way to go,
but age shouldnt be a factor
my compound is 10 yrs old and have no plans to change it,
i recently dug up an old bow my dad had around +30 yrs ago,
even 30 yrs ago it was an old used bow, dont know exact age but its gotta be 30-50 yrs old,
a 25# bow that i plan on using for small game

i think you'll be ok if its been in a place with steady conditions. my dad still hunts deer with his jennings bow from the early 80s

It been in a heated and ac house in a soft case . I don't know if the weight can be adjusted or not. I know its way to strong for me to pull it back.
