Arrow Vane ?

I was watching a Bowhunting show on tv. The hunter had his arrows fletched with ****feather up vane in the normal spot and the other 2 vanes were some 2" to 3" inches in front of the **** feather on the shaft. What up with that, never seen that done?????

It's called a stagger and there are a lot of guys who play with vane placement thinking it will help arrow flight. It doesn't.

I'm still using 4 inch vanes; the old fashion way

Of course, I haven't watched cable television, except on visits, in over 25 years, so I don't know what's new and popular on those cable hunting television shows.
They do sell stuff on those hunting shows?
