Arrow speed ?
 

Hello I have a new to me {09} Admiral Bowteck 60# at 29.5 draw, 367.5 gr arrow and I do not know what speed my bow is producing with this set up if some one can get me close I can guess at how much energy it is producing. TIA Nim:woot:

Only true way of knowing is to have it chronyed at your local bowshop, and then go from there.

Although we get hung p on these things today it's not a big issue. 60# and 29.5" draw, using a properly spined arrow, you have enough energy to hunt anything up to and including moose or brown bears. Whether you can place your arrow in the vital chest are is what counts.

As mentioned, a chrono is the accurate way to get true speed. You can then calculate KE from there, but bear in mind that it's just a number.

same bow but with a 29 inch draw. dont' know arrow weight, but with a 100 gr. point, i got 281 fps.

I use a chrono, they're not all that expensine and are a good indicator of tuning. Gained 20fps sometimes and reduced noise using a chrono to judge the results of work done. There's stuff on your bow reducing speed and when those things don't pull their load equally vibration which reduces speed results. A chrono can indicate a problem and doing different things show the work is having a positive result.

Becareful you don't drill the thing, but more careful when letting friends use it. Friends seem to care less about putting an arrow through one. :)
