cybertec
has anyone done a bowreport on the 2003 cybertec? i am waiting on one. what speed would i get 30inch draw 70# and a 450grain arrow....matt

Acording to the writeup on the cybertec on the hoyt web site... The bow performed at 315 FPS @5 gr.per lb with a 30" draw....So I would think that you should be able to get about 245 to 250 FPS ..As far as I can figure...you are going to be shooting at 6.42 gr.per lb.... If you could lighten up your arrows your speed would greatly increase...Happy shooting :D:D:D |

I do not know if he put together anything formal or not but JeffB had a 2003 Cybertec that he was playing extensively with this year. I do believe he sold it but it did impress him enough to keep it for a good 8 or 9 months...:)
My guess on your speed would be a little more liberal. If you were shooting a bare string with nothing on but a tied on nockset then I think something in the 290 fps range would be attainable. However, most of us rarely just have a tied-on nockset on the string. With a typical peep sight, loop or nockset/ebutton combo along with some string silencers I would guess something in the 275 fps range. |

You can see my speed results in the report. I was getting in the low 270' s w/ a 465-ish grain arrow (29" draw, 71 pounds), however the C.5 can be finnicky for speed when it' s out of time. A few months later I chrono' ed the same exact arrow @ 266 FPS w/out any other setup changes. I can only assume it was a slight change in the harness and/or string. I' ve seen the same variances at the shop in the Hoyt C.5' s. Some are super fast, some slower than they should be..all depends on how well the cams are set up. |
