Drop away rest

Well my whisker biscuit is starting to get a little worn and the guy at the archery shop noticed too, so this will probably be the last year for it. He said my next investment should be a drop away rest. I like the idea of more speed and less noise, but I really don't know anything about them, so I'm asking for some input from you guys. Any advice or recommended drop away rests would be nice.....just remember I'm not rich so take it easy on the prices:happy0001:

I like the NAP Apache drop away. Priced at around $60 it has a full containment system, is strong, quiet and reliable. I was like you last year and was skeptical about the drop away rests until I tried this on. I liked it so much that I purchased another for my other bow. And I also used a Whisker Biscuit too prior to this and my accuracy has improved dramatically.

It's all about personal preference. I prefer a drop away. I have used a couple different ones, Limbsaver, Drop Zone and others. They all work good if set up properly for the bow. Remember speed shouldn't be the deciding factor, rather consistancey should be. For it will not matter how fast your arrow is if you are not consistant in your shot.

Would buy another whisker biscuit. If u shoot alot then I would look into a goodd
Drop made by trophy ridge, the rip cord is also a excellent choice.

QAD ultra rest . They have a basic model which works well( a buddy of mine shoots one). I have the HD and I love it.

trophy ridge revolution great rest and great price

Rip cord is the one I like. Been shooting one for 3 years wit no problems. Price is about average. Around 90 dollars.

x2 on the Trophy Ridge Revolution ($55.00)! unlike with the rip cords, apache's and QAD's, the Revolution is a true full containment rest. you can turn your bow upside down and the arrow will not fall out. just make sure it is set up right and you will have no issues.

HDMontana 02-02-2012 09:15 AM

Ripcords also full containment just not locked around arrow tight like the revolution. On a ripcord, the containment bar comes across arrow holder when holder is in full up position, which is how most will have it when hunting, and you can then turn bow upside down, sideways or whatever without arrow falling off. Some feedback coming in on the revolution saying that there is problems with it on lower poundage bows. Something about locking up and mechanism breaking. Not 100% sure on problem, just what local pro shop that sells them mentioned.

I have been shooting the vaportrail limbdriver since its inception 6 or 7 years ago. Great rest, tough, simple, easy to set up, and best thing is it is driven off the limb motion so no pulling on the cable and causing potential timing issues. They aren't cheap but will last and last....The prototype my buddy has is still in use on his 05 Allegiance. Well worth the price.
