Question kit vs custome build

anyone got any advise on purchasing a bow kit or building it with individual parts?

i know you can spend 200-300 on average and decent equipment in addition to the bow and probably more if you go balls out.

or is it better to get a kit and just replace a few of the parts you don't like.
