Blazer Vanes

I am wondering if putting blazer vanes on with a helical twist is recommended or is it better to have them straight? If you can give them a helical twist I'm guessing you would want to much of a twist or would it simply be a matter of preferrence?

I do them straight and 2 degree off set. I really can't tell the difference.

Ive heard that when people try to fletch them with a 6 degree helical the vane will often pull of the arrow. Cant confirm that though. I have gotten blazers fetched at a 3 degree offset and they are fine.

I like to put as much helical as I can while keeping good base contact with the shaft.

Helical for me.They're so short I seriously doubt it makes much difference though.

Well, I fletched them up with the helical clips. Like Bernie said because they are short, there is not much of a angle there, but just enough to get them to spin. I'll see how they fly this afternoon. Thanks to all who replied

I use the Bohning Helix Jig and it works GREAT! It's puts a fair amount of "helical" (which is a relative term on a 2" fletch) but I have NEVER had even one fletch rip off using it. Stabilizes broadheads great!

Blazer recommends st or only 1 degree of helical which is what their fletcher is set at.

I like to use as much helical as i can. I have shot them with and without helical and i must say i perfer the helical.
