Mine does not hit the shelf,but it does make some noise because the tab hits the stop.However I don' t think the noise is as loud shooting the bow as it is just picking up the launcher and dropping it.I think the string tied to the cable puts enough back tension on it that it does' nt make as much noise.Or maybe my darton is so loud I can' t hear it over the bow.[:o]Where can you get plasti dip?

CB,You can get Plasti-Dip at Home Depot,it`s the stuff that you can drip your plyers in to insulate them.I have used it on bows,rests,sights,even on my Viper climber-works good!
