Thick wrists make my release too short

I have fairly large hands and wrists. I am having a heck of a time finding a buckle release that not only fits my wrist but has the correct length to reach my release finger. I have a real old tru ball dual caliper velcro release that works. But it is almost wore out. I bought a Scott 4001XT-BS Buckle Strap from www.bugsnbullets.com . I really like it but I have to wear it loose around my wrist ( 3rd hole is snug 1st hole is loose) to be able to reach the trigger. Does anyone else have this problem?

Do you have someone that can sew an extension for you. This might work.. I don't use a wrist release, I shot so much competition that I got used to either a back tension or a thumb release. A wrist release would feel awkward on me.
