RE: Two cam or One cam
I have to say I like the consistency of dual cams better. Well, dual WHEELS, actually. I've never liked the noise you get, even with mild cams.
I haven't had much of a chance to shoot Hoyt's new version of the Command Cams yet, but what little I have done with them, I have to agree with Frank's assessment. Seems they've calmed down that hatchet cam WHACK quite a bit. The three single cam bows I've owned shot well, but I've always had the feeling they be could be better. I don't like the quick jump and long dwell on peak weight. I don't like the sudden dropoff into the ditch (ain't wide enough to call a valley<img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle>). And I don't like the darned things trying to snatch my arm off when I have to let down!! |
RE: Two cam or One cam
Arther P,
I like the way you call it a DITCH!!! Im not a big fan of the 1 cam. For one, every 1 cam I have picked up (except for the 2002 Hoyt's) Have a cam on the bottom where the string is to one side of the limb (not in the center) and on the top the string is dead center of the limb.....that doesn't seem right to me.....your starting off with your string at a slant...the shorter the bow the more it slants....?????WHAT THE HECK! That just bugs me.... John |
RE: Two cam or One cam
2 cams for me. i just dont feel balenced with a solo cam, kinda like im pulling the string off the cam and not strait back. ill stick with my twin cam bows, even if my bk2 only has a ditch it does have a brick wall.

RE: Two cam or One cam
I have both and prefer the twin cams much more (especially the Merlin twins).
ArthurP, I call that sudden drop on most single cams the "gorge" -- it is definitely not a valley. Have to make an adjustment at full draw and it may try to rip you back up the shear cliff of the gorge. |

Gorge. <img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle> I like your term better than mine, Rob!

RE: Two cam or One cam
Give Darton's C/P/S system a shot. You will not be disappointed.
