Drop away users . . . ??'s

All you drop away rest users . . . which way do you nock your arrows? With the index vane up, or down? (This site wouldn't let me say **** vane)(lol)

Which way reduces chance of rest contact do you think?

For the QAD ultra rest, they recommend that the vane be pointed up, although they say if adjusted correctly it does not matter.

Specifacaly, I use the Ripcord. And I have shot it both up and down and seems to produce tighter groups facing up . . . but was curious what some others would say.

Always shoot with the c-o-c-k vane up. It is easier to get clearance from the hen vanes that way:cool:

I also get tighter groups with the index feather up.

kock vane up

I use the Rip-Cord with **** vane up,but I have shot arrows with the **** vane up-down-in and out,as stated above best groups seem to be with vane up,although no groups were terrible. As meanv stated the hen vanes clear better with **** vane up.

The drop away . . .

is suppose to be out of the way by the time the vanes reach it.

On the old rests, you had to be sure the vanes didn't hit the rest, and the one vane had to be down.

I might try up in practice sessions. The old habits, even after using the drop away, are hard to break.
