kodiak outdoors

I just bought a kodiak bow logic, with integrated sight and rest.
This bow is the easiest single cam bow i have to tune!
The fit and finish on it , is flawless, the grip is very comfortable.
The bow as some say, is idiot proof to setup for draw length:D
As far as shooting the bow, it is very quiet, recoil free, aims well, just a pleasure to shoot.
It isn' t a speed demon, but very respectable speed for an 8 1/4" brace height.
There are not many dealers around, but i found a great guy to do business with ,
Kevin @ pinwheelproducts. He is very knowledgable, and tells you like it is, not what he thinks you want to hear!
This bow is a real sleeper, but i don' t think it will be for long, once people check them out and shoot them.
Added bonus, they come with winnerschoice strings.:)

Recently, while bow shopping, I had the opportunity to shoot a Kodiak Bow logic. The bow didn' t have any exceptional features that I could tell. It wasn' t the fastest, the quietest, the shortest or the most shock free. However, it seems to do all these things adequately, and I would imagine it would make a fine choice for lots of people. I thought the sight that came with it, made for a good combo for someone looking to get value and needed to get a sight with it. I was not that excited about the packaged rest, but I' m sure it' s more than adequate.

The Kodiaks are definately more than " adequate" IMHO. I was VERY impressed with them when I first laid eyes on them at the ATA show, and when it comes to solocams that takes alot!;) I have tested every bow on the market, and can honestly say that these bows IMO can sit right there with most of them in terms of overall construction, tolerances, fit and finish, and overall handling and shooting characteristics. Everything is extremely user-friendly on this bow-- the cam is fully adjustable for drawlength over a wide range with only an allen wrench, the sight and rest are both micro-adjustable, (and yes, removable if you do not care for them, but IMHO they are both above-average for hunting applications) The grip is extremely comfortable, and it has a nice new technology of eliminating limb pockets! (and it works!) Yep, I think the BL32" can sit right in there with most any other hunting bow on the market today to be honest. I would really like to see a Hybrid cam similar to Merlins' Omega on it instead of the Mathews SL copy, but I' m nitpicking and hey, we can' t have everything, and I feel that the Kodiak does extremely well with what it' s got, especially for a second-year company. (Otherwise I would not have taken on the line!;))

I expect this company to go places in the coming years if they can keep their current quality and customer service level intact. Excellent bows IMHO, and ones that no-one should overlook when shopping for a new hunting bow. Good shooting, Pinwheel 12

Do they have a website? How much do they cost?

Pinwheel,

I did not mean to make them sound bad. They may very well have many technological advantages and great construction, but I was only shooting one for about 10 minutes and could not evaluate that. I was commenting on what I felt when I shot the one bow (the 36" model). Nothing that stood out, but like I said, nothing that would get in the way, either. I' ve shot current bow models that had too much hand shock for me, too much recoil, were too loud or seemed to sensitive to torque. This bow did not have any of that. It just didn' t stand out in any of those categories either.

Just an opinion from test shooting, not from extensive testing. :)

I wanted to add, the one area where they seem to stand out, is appearance. They are " purty" , from first glance.

No worries!:D You called them as you saw them, and I did also. All we can give is our opinions here, whether by " looking at it for 10 minutes" or testing them thoroughly, everyone will give their honest opinion, and really, if you polled 100 different people on every bow model made, you would get a certain percentage of those who liked them, a certain percentage of those who didn' t, and a percentage of those who thought they were simply OK. Human nature.

I understood that you didn' t think they were a bad bow, and that was your honest opinion. Good enough for me.;) I happen to think they' re better than average, take that for what you think it' s worth also.:) Good shooting, Pinwheel 12

Pinwheel - agreed!

One thing I have noticed in the past couple years - average has gone way up!. I finding it difficult to come across a new bow that I really dislike. Choosing between all the positive points of the different manufacturers is getting more and more difficult.

Also true! But that is a GREAT thing for us all as consumers.;) Good shooting, Pinwheel 12

Sure wish there was a dealer cloer to me. Closest one is about 2 - 2.5 hours away. I am in the market for a new bow & would really like to shoot one before I buy it. How much do they cost. Looks like a real nice bow & really like the site that comes with it.
