Scott Silverhorn release
 

Guys/gals - do any of you use this release? If you do, how do you like it?
I use the scott caliper releases but this one looks like it may be even smoother with its 'hook' rather than a caliper.
My only worry is that the string may slip off the hook while drawing. Is this a legitimate concern?

I'd say for bowhunting it could be when letting down. I prefer one that latches (on to a loop).

Been tossing around the idea of getting a hook release and trying it in the off season. I don't think I would ever use it for hunting though. Big critter comes in and it would be one more thing to think about. Keeping tension on the release so it doesn't come off the loop. Don't think they lend themselves to hunting very well.

I have used both and I can say for hunting the hook is fine. As a matter of fact it may be better because hook up is so quick and I've never had a problem with it coming off the loop.

I got one and love it. No problems with it slipping off. Very smooth release.

The release works great. And the release will not slip off the string. It is much faster to hook up, even when not looking at the string then a caliber release is. You will love the release for hunting!

I just picked one up yesterday and even though i only have 5 shots on it so far i can already tell that the hook will not slip off. It could i guess, but you have to be drawing really weird to do it. But so far i think its a great release, a little light on the trigger for me but that can be adjusted. Good luck with whatever you decide to get.
