Dip and Crest Question

What type of paint should be used for dipping and cresting aluminum arrows?

RE: Dip and Crest Question

Bohning makes the paint and clear coat that I use. JDoyle is right some type of dipping tube is a must. Dipping is a slow process when done right and cresting adds to that. But the arrows some of these guys make are absolutely beautiful.

A young man I know taped some and used spray paint and his didn' t come out half bad.

I have used the wraps and they spice your arrow up no doubt. They certainly are easy by comparison and durable. I would argue that when I clear coat mine they are more durable than the wraps however. I also like to dip farther down the shaft than the seven inches that the Eze-crest wraps go. Just a personal preference.

RE: Dip and Crest Question

When you dip and crest your arrows have you noticed a difference in foc? I' m thinking if I dip white, then red, then clear coat, this would buildup at least some weight and may effect foc slightly. Arrow weight will go up but just wondering if anyone ever did any measuring to give me an idea of outcome effects. Thanks, Al
