I get it at times and have to remind myself to keep it simple and think back to the mechanics of the whole deal.Then I go and start close and perfect my form then realize I was panicing at greater distances.I shoot 3 at close range and get mechanics straight and tell myself only difference is which pin at other ranges.Usally taking a break if I'm punching the trigger and it's new world later or another day.I commend you on shooting fingers...I would scare myself!

Thanks, RLoving1. . . yes, i really get spooked when going out at longer yardages. i seem to have the classic symptoms of pre-releasing before the pin gets close and it gets worse the further out i go. I bought Kidwell's book and hopefully that will help. i would like to keep shooting fingers because that is all i have ever done and, to me, it is second nature. i just can't remember the last time i had a bad release...the arrow goes exactly where i aim but getting there has been very difficult. i hear of people using back tension and all with mechanical releases but i don't think that is for me. i am going to cure it and work all year after gun season. htm, you will be surprised how well you will have the target panic under control just after a few sessions of Jay's drills and then in a few weeks your confidence will be even stronger. You will be able to hold your pin on the bullseye again without having to release.

HTM -yes it does cover target panic and many many other issues...........i'm half way thru the book and it's already being a good 'teacher' for me.......takes you thru many aspects of archery that i personally had never ever thought of........think it's a really cool book and would buy it again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
