speed bows
I am looking for the fastest bow i can get! I am currently looking at the bk2 shortbrace height, and hoyt ultratec cam.5. I always hear u guys talking about brace height issues. is the brace on the bk2 going to make it not accurate? My draw length is 26.5 or 27 on some bows. With that draw length what speeds can i excpect out of each bow shooting a 350 grain arrow at 70 pounds? Also i use to own a 2000 model bk2 tall brace height and i could shoot it exceptionally well would going slightly lower effect my accuracy any more? Thanks for any info

RE: speed bows
Looking at BowTech' s speed chart, it says a 26 inch draw will yeld a speed range of 310 to 318 fps and a 27 inch draw will get you 319 to 327. I' ve found these charts to be very close with my new bows.

RE: speed bows
You mean that a 27 inch draw length bow can fling a arrow at 320 while at the 5 grain per pound recommended level?
My Gosh. 300 fps is hard enough to shoot. I can' t imagine 320. |
RE: speed bows
When a lot of people will tell you to stay away from sub 7" bh bows I ' ll say try one out first. I have had no problems with 6" + bh bows. But 5.5" bh for a hunting bow does seem extreme (even to me)!! :D
I' d go with the 6.5" version . The speed is not that much different ! |
RE: speed bows
I had a bowtech BK II that was flinging arrows at 340 fps that was a 32" DL and 70 # that thing sure was fun to shoot but I was not very accurate with it or should I say consistent with it.
If you have any flaws in your form a short BH bow will tell on you. |
RE: speed bows
i like the idea of speed in a bow. you can load up with arrow weight and make it quiet as any bow but the bonus is raw ke.
