PROBLEMS (Please Help)
Well I have a few problems (hopefully minor) that I need to get fixed any help would be appreciated. Ok first off I have a Hoyt Vectrix "28.5 DL" " 68# DW " slinging 28 inch beman ics hunter 400. I have a Ripcord fall away arrow rest and I am getting a pretty even fletching rub on both sides of the rest and my arrows aren't grouping like they were with the last rest I had. My arrow are coming in on a angle one will be leaning right in the target other too the left. What could be my problems and how can I fix it Thanks

Well your not supposed to have any fletch rub on the rest at all. Sounds like it needs to be dropping a little sooner. try adjusting it to drop a bit sooner. also you may have to move the rest in or out to get the fishtailing out. have you shot it through paper yet?

No, I have not shot through paper yet. How would I go about making the rest drop faster by shortening the string??

Could be a couple things-
1st- You likely are a bit underspined- I have a 28.5" Katera (the Vectrix replacement) and even at 65 pounds it likes a 340 class spine- the diff in stored energy between the two is negligible taking into account the draw weight difference. 2nd- Your rest either could not be falling quick enough OR- 3rd, and I've seen this an issue with the Ripcord and Trophy Taker on certain bows/setups-its bouncing back up and the fletching is it hitting it as it passes. On a bow that has slightly angled downward nock travel like most Hoyts and other C.5 type systems do, this can be a real problem if your arrows are underspined. Eliminate the possibility of the rest not falling quickly enough, and then go from there. |
Do I fix the drop away speed by shortening the String ????
