Good stabalizers?
What are the best stabalizers out there, like brand and model? Anyones that really help reduce vibration and help balance? Thanks
|
RE: Good stabalizers?
I use the 4-1/2" Vibracheck Isolator and am real happy with it. I also added a Sims stabilizer enhancer to the end of it. I tried both the 4-1/2" and the 7" and prefereed the 4-1/2 for my Q2. It is a great product.

RE: Good stabalizers?
:DI use the 2" Doinker. Its just enough for balance and helps quiet the bow. I' m not a big target shooter. Although I shoot some 3D tourneys and take my target practice serious, I still use my hunting gear to shoot with every time.:) Doinker makes some great stabilizers.

RE: Good stabalizers?
I have to honestly say that the Stealth stabilizers work better for me than any others I have used.
They have many sizes, and will custom make them to your specs, if desired. Check them out at stealth archery.com or Cabelas. |
RE: Good stabalizers?
I have tried them all and none work better than the Tranquilizer.
Elders, BPS and Cabelas has them on line. |
Looking for a Good Stabilizer?-
The Lore stabilizer uses a somewhat different approach to absorbing vibrations that occur when a bow is being shot. The design of the Lore incorporates six steel rods surrounding a rubber damping element. The rods act like a tuning fork and direct the vibrations from the bow into the rubber damping element. The rubber stays flexible at temperatures well below zero degrees. I put a Lore on my Hoyt MT Sport and noticed an imediate reduction in overall noise at the shot and a reduction in vibration in the grip of the bow. There was also an improvement in how the bow shoots, this stabilizer works and its going to stay on that bow. This is a hunting stabilizer but it works like one twice its weight and length.

RE: Good stabalizers?
I recently bought the Doinker 5" armored hunter. It weighs 7.3 oz and works great with my bow. I can tell a big difference in noice and vibration.

RE: Good stabalizers?
The new donikers 10" with a weight in front and 4 carbon rods are awesome they remove some serious noise . steaths arnt bad and simms 2000 are pretty good allso . I havent tryed the tranqualizers but have herd good things about them .

RE: Good stabalizers?
Stealth Archery " Hunter" .........6 or 8"
Best I' ve tried at reducing vibration/handshock, noise and recoil. |
RE: Good stabalizers?
I' d recommend the Sims Modular, Sims Enhancer
2000, and any in the Doinker line. I use a combination of these on all my bows. |
RE: Good stabalizers?
FYI,
The mis-conception is that the vibration in a bow travels from the limbs to the riser and then to the stabilizer. Statements similar to " We trap the vibration in the limb pockets before it gets to your hand." or " We reduce vibration after it gets to your riser by moving down our %%%%%." I have tested well over 100+ bows in 1000' s of ways. The bows vibration is one event. Not a travelling event. So you don' t get to move it and it doesn' t move either. Ever watch the slow motion video by Easton? Don' t see vibration travelling there do we? Nope. All at once. Everything starts to move upon release. So if you buy a stabilizer and it is working then it has the ability to effect the whole event. All in all try it at your dealer and find what works best for you. |
RE: Good stabalizers?
I will put a vote in for the Vibracheck Isolator line.:)
I have been very happy with mine |
RE: Good stabalizers?
Stealth is the best one I' ve ever owned at reducing vibration and I' ve owned many.
Forget the rest; it' s the best. ;) Sag. |
RE: Good stabalizers?
I love my stealth too and Jerry is a great guy to deal with, couldn' t ask for better customer service.

RE: Good stabalizers?
I tried to get a v-bar stabilizer from e-bay and got outbid by a sniper at the last minute. It' s a good thing too. My max bid was $17 with 5.95 shipping. Someone bid over and got it for .50 more. I looked at the add and the seller was a power-seller with a website. I went to the site that company was selling the same thing for $7.95 plus s&h!!!!![:o]

Stealth
Another vote for the Stealth...8" . I like to test things out for myself, and did so with several stabilizers...had a lot of fun testing different brands. The Stealth reduced vibration and noise far better than the others.

RE: Good stabalizers?
I asked my dealer what he liked ,He has been into archery for over 20 years.
He recommended ,the Sims stabilizer ,Tranquilizer and Doinker . He says these are his best sellers and have been proven to work the best. I asked him about the Stealth and he laughed and then pulled out an old Ace Hydraulic steel ,a old Okie dual chamber and a Xring all metal powder ? He Said, This the old Technology that Stealth is trying to push on the internet and onto new archers and it has been around for years! Maybe some will buy into it but I wont.[:@] What else is coming back? a 4 Wheel compound bow? |
RE: Good stabalizers?
Tosoro........I' m going to put it bluntly. Your dealer is typical of the " Know it all" types of shop owners. They' re not all like that for sure, but a shop owner who will laugh at something that he has no direct knowledge of is shooting himself in the foot. Rather than try it, learn about it and see how it works........and possibly offer them to his customers to let them decide he' ll just dismiss it in favor of what already sells for him. Do you think he wants his customers hearing that there might be a stabilizer out there that outperforms all the inventory he has hanging on his shelves? That' s $$ out of his pocket if he isn' t offering them.
Of course the others are the best sellers because they all promise " the best" and everyone wants the newest and greatest thing down the pipe on those shiny advertisements (Why do you think we want new bows every year!:D). Just because they are so called " New Technology" does not necessarily qualify them as the best. And who is he to say that the " Similar" stabilizers he pulled out have the same make-up as a dual chamber Stealth design? If you want to get technical a Tranquilizer is a ONE chamber design with chunks of rubber stuffed into it.....Does that sound like Earth Shattering technology? Do you know what is in a Stealth? Does your dealer know? I doubt it. WHat' s in it is what matters.......that and the quality of construction and materials used. We are not hallucinating when we are saying that we have tested the Stealths against his " Best Sellers" and the best sellers have LOST in performance. Look above this reply at the other endorsements for Stealth and e-mail the guys who have taken the time to test these things.........see what they say and what they tested them against. These are the guys who have dropped their own money to find out for themselves. Stabilizers need to perform a stabilizing function as well as noise/vibration/handshock reduction so a Stealth is not always going to be a perfect choice balance wise,(Some very front heavy bows NEED a stabilizer like a Tranquilizer) but its other performance characteristics cannot be argued with. And anyone without any loyalties hidden or otherwise towards these " Top Sellers" who takes the time to do any unbiased testing will soon learn this. And as always I am not saying those " top sellers" mentioned are junk........on the contrary some are quite good, and I like the products such as SIMS and Doinker and GKF' s Tranquilizer. (A combo of the Tranquilizer/Enhancer 2000 was my top choice until I tested them against the Stealth.) From my testing on many different bows, and different arrow weights the Stealth has proved TO ME to be the best of all of them. That said don' t expect the sensation of shooting a Stealth vs. another style to be like shooting with a stabilizer vs. nothing at all.......its not THAT dramatic, but it has been noticibly better vs all others I' ve tried. So I' m not going to shoot the " New Technology" just for the sake of shooting what some shop guy tells me is the best or his top sellers........I' m shooting what works the best for me, found out by ME. All I can say is you' ll have to decide for yourself........do you trust the 20yr " Expert" who has loyalties to certain products he' s trying to make a living on, or do you simply bite the bullet and find out for yourself? People are still going to try something like a Stealth and find they might not like it as much as BrandX or BrandY.....THAT' S GREAT! That' s what it is all about........but to blindly dismiss something based on ignorance is plain silly. That' s why the truly good shops like " Len in Maryland" ' s is great (sorry to drag you in Len I need an example) Len might make a recommendation as a starting point on something like a stabilizer based on his experience of what has worked for him or customers in the past, but he is going to stock as many different kinds of an accessory as he can , and then ultimately hand over as many as you want to try, and let YOU decide. When you find something that " works" for you by actually trying them out you will have more confidence in your purchase. |
RE: Good stabalizers?
Last summer, I tested several stabilizers with a digital sound meter. Tested was the Doinker, Vibracheck, XRing, Tranquilizer, and the Stealth. All had about the same reading, except for the Stealth. It was MUCH quieter than the rest, both by ear, and on the meter. Not saying that the others were bad, in fact, they were all pretty good. The Stealth was just better.

RE: Good stabalizers?
Matt>>>> NONSENSE !
I will trust and listen to my Dealer with years of experience over any paid PUMPERS on the net. New technology sells because it works. |
RE: Good stabalizers?
Tosoro.....
Knock yourself out. Trust whoever you feel like.........but I can tell ya there isn' t a " Paid Pumper" among us that I' m aware of. Sure your " New Technology" works (never said it didn' t).......just keep letting someone else TELL YOU that it' s THE BEST. Those of us who have tried know better. Nonsense???? That' s funny......sad, but funny. |
RE: Good stabalizers?
Matt>>>> NONSENSE ! I will trust and listen to my Dealer with years of experience over any paid PUMPERS on the net. New technology sells because it works. I haven`t gotten any checks from him yet!:D They are probably in the mail as we speak. TOROSO HUNTER, if your dealer has been in the game for twenty years he should know better than to make silly statements without testing first. I have only been into archery for 11 years. That is 11 years longer than your proshop buddy. I have owned every stabilizer that he compared to the stealth line. And there is no comparison. I do not know exactly how stealth builds there sticks, and really don`t care. What I do care about is performance. I tried my 3 different length stealth stabilizers on 5 of the 10 bows I have completely setup and ready to shoot. In every instance, the stealth did better than all other stabilizers I own. Granted, there were a couple other stabs that were in the ballpark, but not quite as good. Most stabilizers were not even close to the stealth. If you live anywhere near me, I would be glad to let you try any one of my stealths to see for yourself how they perform. I think you would be impressed. |
RE: Good stabalizers?
check into the following products - Tranquilizer, Doinkers, Vibrachecks, Queit Tunes, and the Simms stuff. all are great products and you will find a system that works best for you & your style of shooting with your bow. Good Luck, contact each of these companies & they will tell you what they have found to work the best with the bow model you own.

RE: Good stabalizers?
Hey Matt,
Do you still have that extra Stealth laying around? I was going to get it before, but, for time and money' s sake, I picked up a Doinker. I love the thing, and it is the best stabilizer I have used, but, all the talk of the Stealth has got my ear again. Torso, There are no " paid pumpers" here, just pleased customers. Do a search on the internet and see what comes up for stealth stabilizers. There are reviews all over the net that state it is the best stabilizer avaliable. Actually, do even bother. Your main concern here is stirring the pot. You have probablly read Jerry' s post and others about Stealth stabilizers and decided just to pop in a cheap shot wherever you could. P.S. Hey BigCountry, hard to believe, but, I have been shooting bows longer than you :D I have been shooting bows since I was 7 which is 12 years, almost 13 years (my b-day is the 23rd). Granted, I didn' t really get into archery until about 4-5 years ago though. |
RE: Good stabalizers?
BM, I think ya misread my post. I have been shooting for 11 years MORE than the proshop guys 20 years.
Now I realize you are from Indiana, PA, so I will make allowances!;) 11+20=31:D:D |
RE: Good stabalizers?
O BC,
Aren' t we the wise guy tonight :D You are still from Western PA my boy, don' t ever forget that :D I' ll bet its hard to sleep at night knowing that your life revolves around making fun a poor innocent guy like me :D[&:]:D |

RE: Good stabalizers?
I just want to thank Matt (Paid Pumper?) for the earlier reports about the Stealth. I couldn' t be happier with it. I had a 7" doinker at the same time I got the Stealth, and there was no comparison at all. The Stealth was clearly better.:D
I had a blast today at the range shooting the Pro 38 DC. At 20, it is just like... click-POP, click-POP - right in the bullseye. The groups at 30 were just as tight as they were at 20, and were impressively good (for me) at 40 as well. The bow is incredibly quiet, as well as recoil and vibration free. I expected the speed, but I am most impressed with the accuracy and great shooting qualities. I think this setup will have me shooting with a lot of confidence by October.;) I am shooting better with this bow and a Whisker Biscuit than I did with the MQ1 and a MZE![:o] |
