What would the result be?
 

I have always shot 125 gr. Thunderheads. I used to shoot an Onieda Eagle and I was pulling 63lbs.
I am currently shooting a martin and pulling 63lbs. After I got the new bow I switched to carbon arrows, but I kept the same 125gr. Thunderheads. (I figured I'd just use what I had)
I need to buy some more broadheads and I was wondering what would happen if I switched to the 100gr.? Does anybody know what is recommended? I could stop at a sport shop and ask, but I thought I'd ask you guys first.:confused0024:

Your FOC balance point will be further back, and your arrows will likely gain about 6-9 FPS. Don't be allured by the speed though.... shoot what shoots best.

Best advice in your situation... buy a package of 100gr field points and shoot them a bit alongside your 125s... you'll be able to see which shoots best pretty quick and easy. Its a cheap investment compared to buying and testing broadheads.

Before buying broadheads I'd try to retune with 100gr fieldtips and see what the results are. I doubt you'd get 6-9 fps increase, but 5 fps is more like it.

100 grains should be plenty of foc with that setup if tuned properly

Im going to lean you towards a 100gr BH. These should work best out of your bow and your arrow setup.

Tips wont tell the story, apples and oranges unless the martin is that much different than a Hoyt. Other than the bow and we're different I've done it. You may notice a slight rise in impact point is about all that will happen. Make the rear end lighter and you might not even notice that. Those heads do a lot of steering. I'd go with the 100's unless I had the 125's. 100's aren't 100 anyways 106. 125's are 128. Shot'm if ya got'm.

That's my .02 You my find I'm way off but like I said, I've done it. If I changed I'd try something different like a Magnus. You might be able to find some used 100's.
