paper tuning
 

Had my bowshooting bullet holes through paper. It was shooting great.
I noticed the arrow didn't look like it was coming out of the bowstraight.
Paper tuned again and had a tail right tear. Tried everything andstill have sametear. Checked cams and everthig I could think of. Any suggestions?

Perhaps your fletching is hitting something. Maybe your fall away rest (if that is what you are using) is no longer falling away fast enough.

I use a limbdriver and haven't had any contact problems but I did check that and wasn't getting any contact. Guess I'll just keep looking and trying. Thanks for the response.

Most of the times when this happens, I see its by someone who has less than 5years shooting experience, and its thier form. I have also chased down form issues since I rarely shoot my compound and mostly shoot straight grip longbows. Typical things are point of impact changing over and over, new bad paper tears. The main culprit is the shoulder. After your shot, is the bow dead in your hand? Or are you gripping it after the shot? During the shot, is the bow shoulder dead solid or does the bow move to the left? On your release, are you gripping the trigger and is your hand right where it was before the shot, or do you have follow thru, and your hand further back behind your ear after the shot.

Not saying you don't have good form or experience, just I have seen the same story over and over again. So don't take it personally. It could be something has changed on the bow.

I use a limbdriver on a few bows and on one of them the allen screw that sets the tension of the spring came a little loose and the axle that the prongs are mounted on shifted to the left causing some similar problems to yours.

It does make me think I am doing something different because I can't find anything different onthe bow. I know usually when I'm not shooting good it's me and not the bow. Guess I'll concentrate on my form and see if that's where the problem might be. Thanks for the advice Bigcountry. Maybe I'll get it back in tune today.

My grip is what kills me. A simple thing, but sometimes I put too much palm in the grip. Concentrate on that bow shoulder, trying to reconize if it locked into place with the shoulder down.

Finally figured it out. Sometimes I'm not real smart and stumbled upon the problem. Sure feels good to shoot a fine tuned bow. Really appreciate the responses and suggestions. Thanks again.

I don't know how but I was a quarter inch off between my rest and nocking point. Good possibilty something I did. Shooting bullit holes through paper again and tight groups. Great relief, can't rest good unless my bow is shooting good.
