Ultra Rest?????
 

Anybody use one, looks cool to me:), but what do I know;)

Stays in the up position, only drops when the bow is fired.
Its not inertia or vibration, but by the speed the knob turns when fired.
100% arrow captivation, no dragging along the riser.
String on the right side of the rest.
I like the whole idea.

Very interesting. But I just went through a 3 week long decision process where I settled on the Bodoodle Zapper! Of course, I haven' t bought it yet :)

For $90, I think I' ll let someone else be the guinea pig on this one...

I do like the fact that they seem to be the only drop away that has addressed the full containment aspect that should be one of the main selling points of drop aways...

I wonder if it will catch on?

I talked to QAD extensively about it at the ATA Show. It is a unique design that has a lot of merit. I pointed out a flaw that they had that was similar to a problem with Mirage rest. They had it corrected by the time of the Kinsey Trade Show.

I haven' t ordered one to field test it yet, so I can' t tell you much more about it.

Looks like a nice rest. Bow hunting is becoming like computers. As soon as you are settled on something and have it working there is something new that looks even better than what you have.

I wonder how long the arrow is supported before drop and is it adjustable? Will the rest fork yield to the forces of the arrow before drop or is it ridgid?

I revieved an e-mail answering some questions.

They state the rest will stay up for a few inches before droping. I have the impression this is not adjustable.

The rest WILL NOT drop if the bow is bumped.

It must be hooked to the cable, not the cable slide

and can be set up so the launcher stops short of the shelf.

I guess the only negative is that it has to be reloaded each shot, but thats no different than the trap door.

May just pull the trigger on this today:D

Rack, Do it. You know you want to. Go on, it' s only money. Imagine how much better it' ll make you shoot... :)

It' s pulled up for each shot manually and is evidently held in place by a sear. When you pull the bow back the cable attachment releases the sear and holds the rest in an upright position. The sear is now disengaged and the rest will operate on downward spring tension just like about every other drop-away on the market except the MZE.

The nice feature is the arrow captivation. My main concern would be its ruggedness, or the ability of the sear to maintain its set during a stalk.

I really hadn' t planned on ordering one unless a customer asks for it. As the season approaches, I might get one in to test.

Looks like too much for a Fallaway. I am looking for a simple Fallaway.
