Best bows under $600?
I know, it used to be that "budget" bows were around $400 (actually I remember top of the line bows at well under $400, but I digress).
How times change. Someone I know is looking for a new bow 6 bills or under. I've made my reccomendations to him (my first thought was the Diamond Nitrous), what are yours? What are the best values? Please don't say buy used- def wants to buy new from a dealer with a warranty/set up/service, etc. |
RE: Best bows under $600?
Prices vary quite a bit depending on what part of the country you're in. You can get a brand newMathews S2 for a tad over six bills in some parts of the country and that bow was Mathews top of the line bow (switchback) just a couple 3-4 years ago and is still considered to be one of their best ever. That being said, I'll have to break your rule and saypersonally I'd pick up that same bow gently used for 3-400 hundred and have the extra 2-300 left over to buy better accessories. Not much to worry about warranty wise as far as the Switchback goes. You friend is going to need to learn to set up and tune his own bow anyway, so save hime some money lend him ahand learning the ropes. He'll end up with a much better rig going usedas he'llhaving a nicer qualitysite, rest, and release.

I'd go to a shop and look at the hold overs, most of them are marked way down. Saw an 07 Allegiance for $525. Another shop has 07 Trykons and Ultra Techs for $485. The 08 models should all be in the $600 range.

Another excellent option is to have him look at the Mission line. You can pick up a Mission Journey which has all the nice features of the Mathews line aside from the hydraulic dampners in the riser. 31-inch axle-to-axle, a 7 1/2-inch brace height and an 80 percent let off. approximately 315 feet per second.Very nice bows for the money.

I shoot a Mathews S2 for a little over 600. You can also get a Misson which is made by Mathews for less. They have Mathews cams on them.

RE: Best bows under $600?
anything made by Martinthatsunder 600(probably half there bows)....i still think martin is hard to beat....when it comes to Quality/performance/fair price .....Martin doesnt make a bad product, they never have.
Go shoot a Martin Saber the bare bow costs $300 online... compare it to bows thatcost twice as much.....the saber is a hell of a deal....no its not as nice as some $700 bows but give it a try....you wont beable to knock it for the price. only spending $300 for the bare bow will give you a opprotunityto deck the thing out with the best ...and i mean best hunting accesorys and still be under $700 |
RE: Best bows under $600?
I just picked up a BOWTECH NITROUS from the Bowhunters SUPERSTORE for $399.00!Seems that it's a combo of the Marquis(riser)and the Black Ice(cams) and was only made to sell there. My buddy bought the same thing last year when they came out for $849.00:eek::D.It's an '08 but brand new in the box and is of the highest quality.I don't even need another bow but couldn't pass up the deal.IT SHOOTS GREAT.
