Should I wait?
 

Well i went out today to fling some arrows and found that I was all over the map. I was shooting from 25 yrds into a standard shooting block. The arrows went low-right, high-right, and some just low from where i was aiming.

This is my first bow and I was interested to know, if i should wait until i start to hit a consistent grouping of shots before I start to move the sights around?

I realize that i won't be spot on for awhile, but I plan to get alot of shooting inover the next few weeks as the weather has turn nice and i can get out after work now.

definitely need to shoot good groups before you start movin' your sight around. try to get a group at 10 or 15 yards.

I think u shld start from 10 and get good groups then back up to 20

It's good to be able to group your arrows so you can tell which way to move the sight, but being as you are new I'd tell you to move closer till you get more consistent. FYI, most people set their first pin for 20 yards so that's what I'd work on for now. 20 yard maximum.

Start out at 10 yards and really work on your form. You will not group well until your form is adequate.

If you aren't shooting good groups then moving your sights will not help because then you will just be ajusting to one specific arrow and not a group. I would recomend shooting at 10 yards and just work on your shooting form. A great book to help with teaching shooting form is Percision Archery I forget who writes it but I know reading it drastically helped my shooting.
