How fast am i shooting?

RE: How fast am i shooting?
125gr. tips. You will lose FOC then though. you could cut your shafts as short as you could get them, drop a few #'s of DW, and use 100gr. tips and then you probably have better results.
With 10gr. on the string i got you shooting 288. With 15 it is at 286.
You are plenty fast for any type of shooting/hunting imo.

IMO,to be properly spined to get broadheads and fieldpoints to hit the same poi,you will need to go to 30 1/2" arrow at 60#'s.
I wish Goldtip would drop the crazy poundage ratings on their arrows and use the proper and actuall spine so that people, including so called proshops will know if an arrow will actually work.

RE: How fast am i shooting?
this kinda confuses and frustrates the heck out of me. does this mean i can't use gold tip arrows since i am using 7595's which are the heaviest hunting arrows that they carry?

RE: How fast am i shooting?
They do have heavier spined arrows, but I have yet to see them stocked in any proshop. You will have to have your shop special order them(heavy big game 100 arrows or their caa arrows) for you or go with another brand of arrow that has a .300 spined arrow.
I believe you will still need them cut shorter than your current 32" even with a 300 spine.

I agree that your spine is going to be weak. That is the problem with Goldtips. They are rated up to 95#'s but no way in hell will that happen at long draw lengths such as yours. The 7595 is only a 340 spine and you clearly need a 300.
I am getting you right at 280 fps.

Goldtips labeling system was great 10-12 years ago when they hit the market. Today it's a recipe for disaster. You need a .320 to .300 class spine- Easton 300 carbons, A/C/C/ 3-71, Carbon Tech 300/65-80s, CX400s, etc.

RE: How fast am i shooting?
I shoot arrows that are 27" long at a 28" draw and have plenty to spare. Cutting your arrows down to spine correctly at your stats should be No problem, but very necessary.
I'd say once all is said and done you'll easily be in the 290's. Binary cams unlike others are fairly forgiving of a softer spine, but get those arrows cut down as much as you safely can to stiffen them up.

RE: How fast am i shooting?
thanks for the help guys. so say i wanted to build an arrow to with a 300 spine. i want to spend roughly the same amount of money i did on the xt's. (roughly 75 bucks a dozen bare shafts). any recomondations on what i should get? i also want a fairly high f.o.c. (between 10-13%). how should i build them?

RE: How fast am i shooting?
Easton Epic ST 300s- good FOC due to the heavy HP insert, same exact tolerances/basic construction as the AXIS but $25 cheaper a dozen. Slightly larger diameter.
Beman ICS Hunter 300 is also in that price range, and will have good FOC due to the heavier insert as well.
