Sold my Q2 and looking into trying the VFT Extreme out. On my Q2 I was shooting a 3-49 ACC,100GR. tip at 29" on 75lbs.,4" Vanes,Gk Plat. Premeir rest and I was wondering can i get around 296FPS. out of it like I was getting on the Q2 and how does this bow shoot?

Hey Q2, accorrding to the speedchart a 29" draw VFT will get 311-319fps, granted that is at IBO specs. According to " the archery program" your arrow weighs 393gr. I came to this weight like this : 100gr tip with insert and 3 vanes weighing 15gr, so I may be off a little.
Anyway at a 29" draw, 70lb draw weight and your arrow you should get 297-305fps out of a VFT. I f you go with a dual cam Patriot you can increase that speed to 302-310ps. And the BK tall braceheight will give you 307-315fps. Hope this helps. Have fun choosing your new bow!!

I' d say BAYOUBENGALS numbers look good to me especially since I don' t have a exact total arrow weight for your ACC.

You' ve got a couple dealers in your area. Maybe you can go try it out at either of these shops and judge it for yourself.

BAYOUBENGALS, you are close total weight is 406GRS. I forgot to include it duh!!

You got 296 out of a 29" draw Q2?

I have a new Bowtech VFT Sampson, and I have never shot a faster bow. I have the draw weight set at 85 (90 pound limbs), 30 inch draw. With a 3-71 ACC, 125 point, 4" feathers, 29-1/2 inch shaft totalling 454 grains I am getting 316 FPS. And the holes are absolutely perfect. With Gold tip 7595 XT' s, 125 point, 4 inch vanes, 29-1/2 inch shaft totalling 442 grains I am clocking a scary 332 FPS. Holes are not perfect but not too bad for a lightning strike. The Goldtips are under spined for this bow at this draw weight. I do alot of speed, spine, weight arrow study. I have scale, paper, chronometer, etc. so if there is a combination that you want some information on I would be happy to shoot a few and let you know what happens.

How about a 53# 27.5" VFT with a 420 gr arrow at 28" long?

depending what else you have on the string but you should be looking somewhere around 265 to 275

Timbawolf........I got quite different numbers than Ausie :eek:
Don' t expect a ton of speed from those specs you listed.........You' ll get more speed than most single cams will at those specs but I don' t think you should expect quite the performance Ausie listed.(his calculator must be on the fritz ;))
Here' s what I come up with:

Assuming middle of the advertised speed road on a VFT at 330fps. That' s 30" 70#

AT 27.5" you' ll lose approx. 25fps right off the top for say 305fps.

Next knock another 6-8fps off for a 60# model......down to 298ish.

Now for the biggie.........with a 420 gr. arrow you are 155grs over an IBO legal arrow (265grs at 57#)
If I remember correctly my I-Cam Patriot lost about 1fps for about every additional 2.9grs of arrow weight .........so if you follow that model you can expect approx. another 53 fps speed loss. (155 / 2.9 = 53fps)

That now puts you around 243-245fps range tops....and that assumes no string load.
Still a heck of a respectible KE level of about 56ft lbs at 27.5" and 57# of draw weight!

Thanks Matt and Ausie... what about a 350 gr arrow? according to bowsite that would give me all the KE i would need. The only string accesories will be the standard string suppressors from the factory, string loop, and peep sight. Thanks again,
