Tying a release loop
I want to start using a release loop on my bow. Are there any places on here or any where else on the net that show you how to tie one?
thanks guys |
RE: Tying a release loop
![]() You can get the rope from a mail order place or a pro shop. You must put a know at both ends, burn a ball on both ends, or put epoxy on both ends. That will keep it from slipping. Bigger stores might have loops with pre-tied or burned ends. The best length is a little under 4.5". I would recommend having just one string nock. Good luck. |

Thanks a bunch x-ring, really easy to understand that one!! One other question for ya. How far should the loop be from the string? I mean, how much of a loop should there be in the string?
Thanks again buddy |
RE: Tying a release loop
Popular consensus seems to be just enough slack to let your release jaws fit comfortably behind the nock... Tie one knot tight and the other loose, snap on a nock, hook your release to the loop then tighten the loose knot to get just the right fit, then burn/epoxy...
