Insert Help Please

Ok fella, I just got some Victory VX 22HV's. So the arrows at 29 inches bare shaft come in at @192 gr.Victory usually recommends glue in tips but they have inserts as well -- Well their inserts I weighed at 25 gr:(. I was told that some eastion 2114 may work -- anyone know a weight on these? I know some of ya still shoot aluminum so please help

Depending on the brand insert, you should be able to find them in the 11gr to 13gr range.

The 2114 inserts won't be much lighter, if any. (just checked the Easton site- same weight-most likely they are using the same exact insert/supplier- PDP?)

AAE used to make carbon inserts for aluminum arrows that were about half weight, but they never seemed to last very long- got mangled and popped out on any kind of decent impact. Might take a look around for those.

Your arrows arent going to be light with the factory inserts! It SUCKS b/c i know you were looking at getting some good speed out of em' and now your probably realizing that they arent much lighter than other arrows[:@] I did the same thing with the last bunch of xringers that i bought. Instead of just buying the glue in inserts i thought id be cheap and just use inserts with 100gr. heads:eek:My arrow weight went from 320(giveor take 1or2)to 353[:o] I was pissed to say the least b/c my Maxima 250's weigh 355gr. So now, after fixing the last ones up, ill be getting glue in pts. again.

BTW, take your time when glueing in the points on the victory shaft. Ive lost many a points in targets, and they aint cheap at all. Try and burr out the inside then swab it clean with a qtip and acetone, then water...

If your trying to keep the weight down for a hunter class 3-d arrow then just shoot the 25 grain inserts with 21/64, 65 grain PDP points available from Lancaster. Now that 2" vanes are allowed for hunter class in the IBO,you can shoot Blazers or even better for FOC,Razr feathers and keep your foc above 10%.

New to Carbon Arrows

Devil in the Details.

Want to use plastic vanes - what offset do you find good?
Are there any poor offsets?
Use a fall away rest.

What length vane?
Use a four inch with aluminum arrows?
Is there a better length for carbon arrows?

inserts(point) -the aluminum arrows have inserts to fit the number.
How do inserts for Carbon arrows run per size of carbon arrow?

What glue for inserts?
Been using FERR-L-TITE for years on aluminum arrows.

Thanks for any help !!!
