Anyone seen/read these bow reports before?

I love how a certain big name manufacturer did not want their two flagship bows (for 08) being tested apples to apples with the competition

Interesting Jeff. I suppose a bow company gives them a bow(s) to shoot. Doesn't surprise me any.......good strategy on their part. I bet they have a couple of '09 models for testing this year.......only because of their supposed speed?

Jeff:

The 2006 and 2007 face offs were posted on AT. Last year, they did not do the whole face off thing, but only the individual reports. I agree that these tests are done very well, and everything is set to specs. Some bows definitely were not as fast as the fanboy posts on many message boards. I personally think they are the best evaluations going, followed by Norb Mullaney's work. Most everything else in magazines is just like promotional material.

I would have liked to see more from elite. Specifically the GT500. I was most impressed with the relatively low vibration of the PSE X-Force HF. Hopefully the 2009 tests will cover more bows. Thanks for posting this information.

barring 2 bows by a certain manufacturer who abide by their own specs apparently

What I found interesting was the 82nd tied that other fast bow and the BT has 1/4" more brace height, 1/2" less draw length and one pound less draw weight. To be fair, the 82nd also had some seriously high vibration ratings compared to that other bow.

My 82nd did have a fair amount of vibration, but once I added a Mini MeanV (see pic) it took a chunk of it out.;)

I too found the 82nd has quite a slam. After I added the string tamershe settled quite a bit.

Do you guys mean in addition to the stock string supressor? or as a replacement?

Yes, either add one too the bottom riser hole adn keep the stock one, or throw the factory one away completely (thats what i did) and let the aftermarket one do the job. My 101st still had a bit of vibe and noise, but it shot like a champ and tuned well with the aftermarket suppressor.
