Is there such a thing...
as a DRAMA FREE bow company?
Let me know so I can go buy one. I never see any drama about...hmm..Forge.... or...Oneida...or Parker....or....Darton...I'm sure there a few more.. Drama all over AT- whether it's Mathews or BT or Ross, or Diamond, or Hoyt, or PSE, or Martin, or, or or.. Elite Archery forums are full of drama too right now with the buyout and move to NY. After being absent for sev years-I sure didn't/don't miss the drama on these archery forums- I just like to shoot and hunt and talk about bows and how they work-whatever name is on the limbs :( |
RE: Is there such a thing...
Drama all over AT What do you expect from that place. I quit going there a long time ago and now only visit the classifieds every now and then. Those guys should get over themselves and shoot. It's just a bow, if it breaks it will get fixed pure and simple, the earth is not going to stop turning because the drama queens have a little trouble with a bow. But it seems the first place they go is straight onto an internet forum and complain instead of taking the bloody thing back to the dealer for repairs;) Ok thats enough drama for today:D |

RE: Is there such a thing...
drama is useless but I respect brand loyalty! That does not mean running down anothers choice in archery equipment! I have limited knowledge in brands other than Bowtech/Diamond since thats all I have ever shot but still impressed when someone changes brands and can still shoot as well or better! Drama is always going to be around.

RE: Is there such a thing...
I decided to delete my original thoughts on the matter. Suffice to say the Archery industry is ultimately responsible for breeding this type of drama and the sheep.

RE: Is there such a thing...
Nice turn of events.
On a positive note- Elite's new owner and staff posted a few annoucements last night which clarified alot of issues people were having, set the record straight, and put the rumors to rest. He also decided to have a new bow giveaway (autographed and personally tuned by Kev!) for the forum members. Wish me luck! ![]() |
RE: Is there such a thing...
As long as there is competition in the market, there will always be drama. Bowtech fired this guy.....Mathews is stealing ideas from this company..... Hoyt has strippers building their bows...blah blah blah....
I really couldn't care less. If they make a great bow and I shoot it well then that is what I'm going to shoot. I care more about the good rumors. Like a company is going to be improving their process and materials, new design, etc. |

RE: Is there such a thing...
Dan, I think for the tours, you have to pay to get in the door. They'll build you a bow, but you have throw money down for each component.:D
Man this thread went in the dumper quick didn't it?:D |
RE: Is there such a thing...
The drama is created by the so called "brand loyalists" who like to get in battles defending their decision on what bow they spent $800 on......as if the company is sponsoring them or something. Everybodybought the best one! If you go to a pro shoot, and watch the guys who GET PAID to shoot whatever is in their hand, they are all friends and don't argue about who's cam or riser is the greatest innovation. I highly doubt you'll see pros arguing on the internet over equipment. They actually shoot their bows and don't have time.

RE: Is there such a thing...
I cmpletely agree about the bow drama! Its insane that the archery group is the group of hobbiest that are so judgemental and brutal! I personally think its hilarious that people spend soo much time defending/bashing bow companies... For me, anymore, its almost hard to find a bow that i wouldnt shoot, and i shoot for a shop! Im shooting the AM now, but if my shop said we arent carrying hoyt anymore, its pse or mathews, im sure i could find and setup a bow that i could shoot just as well, and probably like just as much.
I think alot of the issues are caused by manufacturers, and here is the one that stands out the most to me... They are obviously talking about-you know who[:-]- http://www.pse-archery.com/prod.php?k=57248&u=0759UF THats one that will completely upset the Mathews population on AT if you post that! Like i said, i think its entertaining, but at the same time, its ridiculous... If you truly shoot lots of different bows and shoot all of the high end bows right now with an unbiased opinion, i think most will find that there arent any that they couldnt truely deal with. The Manufactures cause a lot of the drama. Envy over industry setting innovation, theft of ideas, copying patented ideas.. Then the loyal following gets involved and we all end up in distant families of archers and bowhunters.
I've watched BowTech get beat up ever since November of 2005. Most of it was over the Binary cam system and how it was an inferior cam design. Now everyone and their cousin is using similar designs on their bows. Mathews iseven producing dual cam bows now and I'll bet Hoyt and PSE will be changing soon. Merlin from across the water in producing one now! http://www.merlin-bows.co.uk/index.html |

RE: Is there such a thing...
Agreed, and since MOST manufacturers are small peanuts they cannot afford any kind of legal battle/issues without killing themselves.
Not sure about he pockets you speak of Russ, but as for Darton- Rex has always been under the radar, and has alot more patents and designs that people think/assume- he just quietly patented along throughout the years, and now is in a position to either bargain for royalties or put the hurting on some people if he really wanted to. I won't get into brand X vs. brand Y- but in my mind, if it's patented, suck it up and pay your royalties- OR design something new. |
RE: Is there such a thing...
The link I posted earlier shows the Merlin copy of Hoyt's "spread" limb pocket,, which some claimed was a "copy" of BowTech's CP design..
Copy?:D It's all good for us;) |
RE: Is there such a thing...
some people just need to learn that you can buyanyone of the bows in the 40-70# range set it up withsome decent gear and take it out and kill deer
