I am not sure why someone would lie about having bucknasty strings on a bow. As long they are not in bad shape, and serving is not separating anywhere, I would probably go by the man's word.

Only sting I would not want is zebra twist.

Call John. 828-680-9862 between 1-7 PM. Or e-mail [email protected] If you could give him the name of the guy you bought it from he should be able to tell you.

If the serving is brown, i would say they are his. I wouldnt guess that any stock string would have brown serving, but thats jmo...

I agree. It certainly sounds like an aftermarket string.

Strand count could give you a clue too. The Barracuda strings are made really light (to gain some speed) , maybe only 16 strand, while I think John uses a 20 count of 452x. For a quick count just count the yoke strands on one side and see if there's 4 (16 strand) or 5 (20 strand).

Thanks for all the input! I couldnt just take the sellers word for it because the DXT i got was not as described and there was alot of shipping issues..I did manage to get it confirmed as a bucknasty at my local mathews dealer..But now the question is..What does a bucknasty string for a DXT cost?

Probably similar to the cost of the 'cuda strings but of much higher quality.
