changing draw weight
 

quick question,

if I want to change the poundage on my bow up, will it affect the nockpoint and rest positionthat muchso I have to retune ?

I have a 82nd with 60# limbs but I'm only pulling 55# at the moment. So I got used to drawing the beast and now I want to go to 60#. I have some aftershot vibration, would that be less when I max out the limbs or would the noise and vibration increase ?

Bows always shoot best at peak weight- The limbs have the optimal load, the cam/cams ar ein optimum position, and generally they are more quiet and will shoot with a more "tight" feel (less vibe, etc)

You may or may not have to re-tune, most likely will at least need to re-adjust your sights a bit- depends totally on your arrow/arrowspine. If you are using a drop-away it may also affect the rest timing.

The brace will decrease if you up the poundage, and im sure other small stuff will as well. Idk how much difference in the tune it will make???

Btw, my 101st was quieter at 53#'s thenit was at 61#'s. i was shooting a close to ibo arrow at 61#'s so that was probably why but... If you are using the same arrow, then your bow will get louder not quieter b/c your speed will increase.

With a single cam bow you'll see more issues with nock point movement than with your Binary cams. You shouldn't need to retune but I would watch the effect on the spine of your arrows.

I think my Easton FMJs 400's won't be over or underspined with the 125gr tips I'm shooting.
I'll probably have to check my QAD rest and nockpoint.
I have second thoughts since I shot a 297 last friday at the national competition with my huntingbow, which made me first in line inbetween targetshooters.
So I might just leave her at 55# for the time being.....
