I have been looking at the bow master portable bow press, has anyone tried them. I was wounding if they where worth the money? I like the idea that I can take it with me when I travel. Can someone give me the good and bad on the press. Good Hunting.

RE: Bow master bow press
The good: Works great on older bows, and good on most parallel limb bows.Definitely save a hunt in a pinch.
The Bad: Won't work on beyond parallel like a bowtech general, can scratch up the inside of a limb if you don't put some padding down, can be a bear to press a bow and awkward. It really helps to have the bow in a vise or well secured. |
RE: Bow master bow press
bigcountry thanks for the advise. I had wounder it I would need to put it in a vise. I have came up with a couple ways to hold the bow while working on it after it was pressed. Thanks again and good hunting.

RE: Bow master bow press
The Bowmaster is a great portable press. Like big said it's easier to use with a vise but not necessary. Also, use a wrench or socket to tighten and/or loosen and make sure the bars are always in the correct position across the limbs. It's a PITA to do it by hand.
