Does anyone else have this problem?

Ok so I was shooting my bow a while back at the local range and I couldn't figure out why I just couldn't focus out to 40-60 yards with my Hoyt Vulcan and G5 ME sight. Then I ended up shooting my old bow (kodiak 32) and could see the target/pins fine with the Kodiak quick click sight. I realized that I could see the pins/target better because my old bow is way slower 200fps (compared to 284fps) and thus my pins were spread apart better. Any ideas on sights or adjustments so that I can "see" the target/pins better on my Hoyt? I like the G5 sigh but the fiber optics suck during dusk if the light isn't on.

Try shooting a heavier arrow to slow it down and spread out your pin gaps.;)

Are they both the same size pins (.029" vs. .019")? The finer pins would help you focus better, so would better lighting or a larger peep. I get the same halo effect on my pins as the light fades. It doesn't much bother me in closer because the target looks larger but out farther (40+ yards) it makes it very hard to discern. You could try shooting at a larger target too (single spot vs. 5 spot) so that the halo still centers in it rather than blotting it out.

Try a one pin sight. HHA makes a really quality sight that is very adjustable.

Due to aging eyes and needing bifocals I had the same problem with my Hogg-It, although it isn't a problem with the sight. I shoot several bows so this is what I did. Removed the bottom pin from the Hogg-It and spread them out. Sighted in like 20, 35, 45, 55 yards.

On my other bow I just put my HHA OL-5000 on. Single pin works a lot better for me.
