Quiver question?

Detachable vs. bolt on?
I hear/read some like the detachable so when they get to the stand they can remove it.
Others bolted on all the time.

Which do you prefer and why

RE: Quiver question?

I prefer the removable quiver because it makes shooting at an animal more like shooting at an X because I do not use a quiver in the range. Plus, because my quiver is magnetic, I can stick it to my stand when I take it off my bow.

RE: Quiver question?

The reason I asked isa guy at work metioned it because when in the stand by having it off if he moved the bow to the right say (right handed) to pick up a deer the quiver/arrows don't inhibit his sight or view no matter how minimal that may be.

just curious

Well, the quiver mounts on the opposite side that the sight housing is on, so it should not obstruct his view. I'm not sure if I understood your question, but it seemed like you were asking about the quiver getting in the way of the sight.

I prefer mine to be mounted on all the time because I seldom hunt a stand where I can hang it (spot and stalk) and a 2 piece bolt on is much more quiet.

That's just crazy talk. If it's mounted to the bow it moves with the bow and doesn't inhibit the sight picture anymore at aim point A than aim point B.

Good Point, if you are going to spot and stalk, you will probably have your quiver on when you shoot, so a 2 piece design is nice because it is a lower profile design. Meaning that it is easier to mount it closer to your bow than a one piece because there is no need for spacers, which will put the quiver farther away from the bow causing the bow to be out of balance. I certainly noticed this when I tried to shoot with my one piece quiver on. For that reason, I bought the two piece octane and put it on my Marquis, which I use to spot and stalk.

I don't think he meant the sight obstruction. Maybe just field of sight if he was following a deer as it walked past? I'll have to check.

Anyway I'm in Ohio so I think most of mine will be from a stand.
I bought the Fuse 2 piece but am now thinking of going back and getting either the Hoyt or Octane 1 piece.

RE: Quiver question?

I personaly like keeping the bow between the deer and my face. I think it obscures your face. I usualy wear a face mask too. But its worked for me. I've never had a 2 peice quiver. I usualy leave the one peice attached but I do like the lowest profileI can get.

RE: Quiver question?

I had a two peice bolt on quiver and liked it, but unless you have a bow case big enough that you can keep it on all the time, you have to take it off everytime you put your bow away and put it on everytime you go out. Not very conveinent, soI went with the one peice detachable and like it much better.
