Lowering Brace Height
Hi everyone. I want to lower my brace height on my Reflex Tundra. It has the versacam on it. I think that I can put a longer string and longer cable on it to do that but not really sure. I would appreciate some advice. Right now it is 7 5/8 inches. I would like it to be around 7-7 1/8 inches. It may not be a good idea to do this so maybe you guys can tell me.

RE: Lowering Brace Height
Why do you want to lower the Brace height?

RE: Lowering Brace Height
Im taking it that by lowering the brace you mean shorten it. Why do you want to do that? But anyways....to answer your question there are more than one way. One way is to untwist the string a bit, but this wil also add a little more draw weight and add a little more to the draw length also. You can add twist to the buss cable and get the same thing. Either way your gonna increase poundage and draw length as well. Personally I wouldnt recomend doing this. Ive been there and done that and i will never try it again. In my case i did it to gain a little more draw length.

RE: Lowering Brace Height
Thanks guys I thought I might get a little bit more speed, and thought that it may be a way to do it. I really didn't think it would work but you never know. It doesn't hurt to ask if you do not know.

RE: Lowering Brace Height
Patrick...You will get more speed but only because of the added poundage. You cant shorten brace height without adding poundage and draw length as well.

RE: Lowering Brace Height
Any chance you can lower your total arrow weight to pick up the speed you want? Take junk off your string?

RE: Lowering Brace Height
How about adding a 1" overdraw and whacking an inch off your arrows? Lighter arrows mean faster speeds. Notice I did not say lighter arrows mean more accuracy. I shortened my arrows to gain a little speed and lost quite a bit of accuracy. You learn from your mistakes.

RE: Lowering Brace Height
I would not put a longer string and cable on your bow it might end up slowing your bow down. This will take some stress out of your limbs and they will not work up to there full performance. If anything try twisting the cables and the string and putting slightly more stress on your limbs this will increase your brace height and add a few more pounds to your draw weight but it should make the bow a little faster. I hope this helped.
