My arrows have the brass inserts and I figured I would need some down the road and rather than buy 1 dozen a time I played around and made some.Not perfect and carbon copies of one another but they are spot on for weight and they spin test great.I have used 4 of them and am pleased so far.They cost about $1.50 a piece to buy with shipping and 4' of brass stock cost me about $25.With my free time and my dad has alot of that on his hands I think it's worth while.What the group think?

Some of them look like they would put the tip out there further and therefore the arrow will be longer. IDK, but it's a lot easier for me to just buy them, however, I wish I knew how to make my own. Nice work.

I do need to get out and cut a bunch more...never know when I could have a rash of lost ammo! Think those will work do you Russ?

I dont see any reason why they wont work;)

I'm thinking about getting some heavy, stiff spined shafts for my long bow and use 100gr inserts and 200gr heads, just to have a little more umph when the arrow connects;)

I can cut some of these heavier if you have trouble getting heavier b/h's.You going to use the bemans?

No I will probably go with some Gold Tip 5575 Traditional shafts;)

They are the same inside Dia as Beman shafts.

To be honest not real sure! It's one of those little shop jobs that only has about a 8" throw and maybe 24-30" deck! Nothing fancy,has the drill press on the end that uses the same drive as lathe that you kick out with spindle on end.It's a heavy little critter and dad has turned out lots of little projects in the 10 or so years he's had it.:D

I have something similar at work. Keep your eye out for a deal on a 1" travel dial indicator with a magnetic base. I put one on the carriage and one on the cross slide. It'll make machining quicker, easier and a lot more accurate.

Thats tempting KWilson but my insert making falls under same deal as my dads engraving and leather work,we do it to see if we can do worth a darn and for fun.When you do some things for profit it just ain't the same and have folks expecting certain quality and I would hate to disapoint good people.;)

I could beat that price easy but you get good stuff from 3rivers and in good time.
