I had no idea that Elite was that good!
I am looking at buying a more forgiving bow to shoot ASA 3D competitions with since my 82nd it too fast. I was thinking that the Diamond Iceman would be it, but that was before I saw what Elite had. The GT500, Z-28, and XLR are absolutely incredible. Forget the new Mathews with a 5" brace height, I'll take the 7+"er any day. Now I just need to find proshop that sells them and put the cash together.

RE: I had no idea that Elite was that good!
I just remembered hearing about Elite somewhere, so I googled them and found this. Crazy, right?

Just found out about the new High Country. 352 fps IBO and a 7" BH. Also impressive. It looks a lot like the GT500, only with different cams. I will have to hive that a try as well.

Elite is kind of like a BT with Barnsdale limbs, and they have the benefit of having some inside info. from a former BT engineer. Germ's Elite had a pretty harsh draw cycle but a super nice wall when I drew it, he could give you some input, on them probably if you're really interested, and he's a LEFTY as well.

That poor man. Sure, I'd love to hear what Germ has to say. The only thing I can think of right now is how it compares to an 82nd's draw cycle.

RE: I had no idea that Elite was that good!
I'd draw one before you buy. Theyhave a harsh draw cycle. Very reminsicent of my old Black Knight II.
|
RE: I had no idea that Elite was that good!
I'm not liking that at all. I hated the Black Knight II.
|
RE: I had no idea that Elite was that good!
See what you think. It was the first thing that jumped into my head as I was drawing the 500.
|
RE: I had no idea that Elite was that good!
Hmmm, well I thought that I would give the GT500 a try, I was not planning to buy it. I have my speed bow and it's great. It's got it all. I was looking more toward the Z28 for competition 3D because my 82nd is too fast to go into an official ASA shoot. I hope that it is as smooth as a baby's butt.
|
RE: I had no idea that Elite was that good!
Shoot heavier arrows ;)
Seriously though, the GT500 is no where NEAR the Black Night II. It's also smoother than the 82nd. It's stiff, but not harsh. |
RE: I had no idea that Elite was that good!
That's what I was hoping for. I was surprised to hear that it was so aggressive.
|
RE: I had no idea that Elite was that good!
I shoot an Elite GTO and am more than impressed with it! Absolutly zero complaints about it, smooth, fast, forgiving. That what I was looking for and thats what I got!
|
RE: I had no idea that Elite was that good!
Exactly. $1300 well spent.
|
RE: I had no idea that Elite was that good!
$1300?!?! I bought my bare bow for 550 Lol. Where did ya find that price?!
|
RE: I had no idea that Elite was that good!
I didn't, someone else on the forum said it was that expensive. Not this thread. I have never actually seen one in person.
|
RE: I had no idea that Elite was that good!
I'm pretty sure I'll have a Z-28 next season along with my Truth II.
|
RE: I had no idea that Elite was that good!
Is it true that they do not make a left handed Z28?
|
RE: I had no idea that Elite was that good!
I heard that the 2009 Elites will be coming out in January. Is that true?
|
RE: I had no idea that Elite was that good!
Are the Z28s only available in right hand? I called one of my local dealers and that is what he told me.
|
RE: I had no idea that Elite was that good!
OK, I emailed elite and the response time was terrible. I'm not impressed.
The following is what I sent them: Are your bows available in Mossy Oak Obsession? Is the Z28 available for left handed people? How much should a retail store charge for a 2008 Z28? When do the 2009 models come out? The following is what they replied: Bryce, our bows are 2009 models:) and the dealers have appropriate pricing around 759 for an all Camo Z. The Z28 is not offered at this time in Mossy Oak, only Real Tree and G1 camo, not do I have in LH until some time next year. Thank you Kristin Cole Elite Archery Sales and Service OFFICE: (509) 529- 0626 FAX: (509) 526 -0631 "not do I have in LH until some time next year." I think she meant that they will be coming out with a left handed version of the Z28 sometime late 2009. |

You mean that if you let up the slightest bit, it went? That is the same way my 82nd is. Not a problem.
