I don't know. If that is the case, I don't think that they can call it IBO. I would e interested to find out.

I have to ask a question about IBO speeds also. SInce they are based on
70# Draw Weight, 30# Draw Length, and 350grain arrow weight then how do they rate a Bowtech Equalizer?

The bow specs are as follows:

Draw lengths 24" - 27.5"
Draw Weight 29# - 60#
IBO Speed 300 - 308 IBO Speed

I have one at 26.5", #60#, and about a 400 grain arrow weight.
That is part of the reason that they offer a birth certificate on Bowtechs.. and it comes in especially helpful with the equalizer. Its not what a like model of bow shot at some point in time... the BC is what THAT BOW REALLY SHOT.

As to how they do it... lots of times you will see and asterrik next to the speed.... usually it will say "approximate", which means they figured it the same way I figured mine in my post on page 2. They'll take a 5gpp arrow for whatever weight... shoot it... take the speed.. at 10-12 fps for every inch they are under 30" and whallah!

Other companies will have the asterik, and they will tell you what specs they tested with... often times it will be the max draw length on a short draw bow.. with the max # and a 5gpp arrow.

No matter how you slice it.... its going to be slower when you actually set it all up... unless you have a 33" draw length like Arthur does. Then you can probably hit IBO speeds at 55#s with a 400gr arrow.

Ibo for my 101st 60# 29.5"draw=330-340IBO
Hunting-400ishgr. arrow=290fps
Target-308gr.=5.01gpp=320fps.
thats about twenty under IBO. add a .5" of draw, take all of the string junk off and it would be around 330 or so. that would be IBO basically give or take 10fps.
