Bow Setup - Stabilizer vs STS
My cousin just got a hand-me-down bow from his brother. It is a older Hoyt, but it is still in great shape and will probably serve him fine fora few more years. The bow was stripped down when he received it. He has put on sights, a new string, a whisker biscuit, and I am giving him new arrows (see my post about the WB and Blazers).
Now, the bow only has one mount, which is on the front of the riser. So we are trying to decide between putting oneither a front-mountSTS string suppressor or a regularstabilizer on the bow. My question is, which one, the STS or the stabilizer, would more effective in reducing noise and vibration? I am leaning toward suggesting he go with the STS, but I just wanted yall's opinion. |
RE: Bow Setup - Stabilizer vs STS
As far as i know you can put both on if you wanted to. i personally never use a stabilizer and i have read nothing but good things about the STS.

I would use both, or cabelas makes one too!! they both allow for the use of a stabalizer with them

RE: Bow Setup - Stabilizer vs STS
Yeah, you can put a stabilizer and an STS on a front mount bow. I have one on my Hoyt ViperTec and it works great. STS has a threaded hole that you can screw a stabilizer into after you put the STS on.

Yup I use an STS front mount and a Fuse Axium on my hoyt trykon, though I wish there was a rear mount screw.

RE: Bow Setup - Stabilizer vs STS
I have not used it, but it actually has a pocket as apposed to a stop block, so the string falls into a notch. I like that idea. It is 39.99 and works for front or rear.
