Spine me some arrows!...another ?

I need someone with the software to help me spine some arrows. I want to get some Beman ICS 400's or some Easton Epic 400's. I'm pulling 71# peak at 28". I would also like to shoot 100 gr tips and broadheads. Any help you all could offer would be appreciated. I would love to get the software, but I'm a Mac guy and don't have Windows installed on my machine.

At 71 lbs., you are going to want a 340 series arrow if you are going to run a 28" shaft with 100 grain tips. Shorten the shaft to 26 or 27 inches, and you can get by with a 400 series.

That's what I had thought, but some on here have mentioned that I'm a little stiff at 28" with the 340's. Just wondering if someone can confirm or deny that with OT or other software.

Running the numbers thru OT, show 400 a little weak and 340 too stiff.

You can get by with 29" with 125gr head with the 340.

Or you can go to 26" shaft with the 400 and 100gr head.

Or just do the smart thing and drop to 65lbs and be good with a 28" arrow and 100gr head.

Thanks, bigcountry. I knew I was kind of between shafts. I normally do shoot around 65 lbs so maybe I'll give that a try.

And that will be an easy tune. Just shoot some broadheads and fields and drop wieght until they line up, this is of course dependent on a correct centershot now.

At 27.5" they shouldwork as I shot 400's out of my 71# Allegiance for a couple of years and they tuned very well.

One word of caution, single cams tend to like a little stiffer shaft than the Binarys in my experience though.

Mine as well. My Mathews, set at 61 lbs., does not bare shaft tune the same as my Hoyt Vectrix XL set at 61 lbs. The Mathews, despite a lower IBO rating, needs an inch shorter shaft.

Don't blow off what Dan's saying. Bows are different. Some store more enegry at the same weight as others. Some push 70 pounds longer than others. That push crushes shafts more. The fact that all 70 pound bows don't shoot the same shaft at the same speeds is proof.

What's the word on Easton ACC 3-49's. I've been thinking about taking the plunge. How will those do at 28" with a 100 gr point?

Here is what OT2 showed for the 3-49's

I don't know the program, but is it saying that I can do a 28" arrow and spine perfectly with my setup? Looks like it to me but maybe I'm missing something. Thanks, archer 2.

They work better than 360's out of my 05 Protec @ 68 lbs. Wasable to get both this past year.

Axels long, draws been smoothed out, big brace. If things were different they maybe to soft.

The program shows the setup would be ok for you as long as you didnt go with any heavier tip weight or poundage. You could put wraps on the arrows would make the spine even better than it is but not necessary.
