Mathews roller cable guard noise

Hi Folks,

i have a Mathews LX and am getting a light popping noise from the roller cable guard when I draw.

I had this prob a few weeks ago and took the bow in to my local shop. They tinkered around with and it stopped, but now it's back.

Just wondering if any of you Mathews owners have experienced the same and if so what you did to fix.

Thanks

Is the cable slapping/popping back into the track or is it a ticking type noise.... might want to try some tri-flow or singer sewing machine oil on it... if you are hunting in a super super cold environment, use a dry lube like graphite.

Hi, thanks for the response. The cable seems to be popping back into the track. The serving is worn also. Could the worn serving have something to do with you think?

So its definately the cable then... not the string. That makes it easier.... if the serving is worn, then there has been a change in the overall diameter of the serving... smaller serving makes it easier to slide up the side wall of the roller and then snap back down to the bottom. There are a couple ways to fix this.... first... you probably have some cam lean anyway... to fix that, you are going to have to twist up one side of the yoke on your cable.... that will probably fix the problem. You could also have your cable reserved.... or if it has been a while... even replaced altogether.
