You'll get about 9000 opinions on this one dude. Some guys can do both eyes open, some guys can't. It's a matter of personal preference and also eye dominance and eyesight capabilities. For me personally, I'm blessed with great eyesight, and right eye dominant, so I can do both eyes open, and my right eye takes the lead on focusing and I shoot well like that. I can shoot with my left eye closed, but I'm steadier holding with both open.

You'll just have to try it and see what works better.

Also when aiming, focus your eyes on the target, not the pin. And I mean focus on that target. Let the pin hover, don't follow it around with your eye, stay focused on the spot you want to hit........andsqueeze the trigger. This is the biggest tip anyone can give you in regards to aiming.

Oh it works. It takes practice to let that pin float and squeeze the trigger, but that's how it's done buddy. Once you learn it though, your skills go up and you get way better than you would just hoping and punching that trigger. Trigger punching leads to flinching and target panic, and we don't want that.

Give it an honest try !

when shooting at a deer, ill keep both open untill im ready for the shot. With both open I find the deer easier and then when im on target ill close one eye and focus on the one spot I want.

But I dont shoot with both eyes open though

I have the same problem. I am left eye dominant but I shoot right handed. I get the double pins so I just close one eye.

its whatever works best for you man.i shoot better with both open. like stated above, i am right eye dominant and have good eyesight so my right eye takes over. if i shoot with my left closed its way harder (for me) to be consistant. now i gurantee you though, if i practiced on shooting with one eye closed and forced it i could shoot well like that. but its really all about whats comfortable. find out what u like and stick with it. dont go listening to your buddies or anyone if they tell u one way is better than the other. good luck

I can shoot with both eyes open but normally dont. As for the focusing on the target thing that really works well.
