what weight Axis arrows and size whisker biskit

Guys, whats the reccomendedsize of the axis arrowsfor a 60-62 pound bow(29inch draw). Im assuming the 400 is the best all around. Would the 340 be to light? I shoot a 100grain tip and they will have blazer vanes also.

next question, what size biskit for these arrows? I know large is out, but between small and medium which is better?

if it matters, they are coming out of a Hoyt Vectrix

The smallest size biscuit. I just bought Axis 400's and then had to switch size also. Shoots much better than the larger size

The 340 is actually heavier than the 400. It depends on the spine of the arrow in the end rather than the weight. There are some good threads on this forum about selecting the correct spine. I shoot 62 lbs at 29 in and use the 340's. I used the 400's last year, but switched this year so I could get a little heavier arrow. I use a 125gr head to help get the spine where I need it. With 100gr tips you will be ok with the 400's.

I shot my 28.5" vectrix last year with axis 400's, 27" shaft end to end, 100 gr. Fuse 3 blade heads, and blazer vanes. I used a fall away rest, but it was a very accurate and stable arrow out to 50 yds. The deer hated it :). I only switced to acc's this year because I ran out of axis shafts, and I felt bad for the acc's growing dusty on the shelf.

You should be shooting a 400 series arrow at 60 - 62 lbs and 29" draw - although I might actually cut my arrows to 28" or 28.5". I have seen some 340's shoot pretty well, however; despite the fact that they are considerably over spined at this length. You could use a 340 if you wanted to leave it long (31").

DITTO... Litterally almost to the T. I shoot a 29.5" arrow.. 62#s... and I use the 340s with a 125gr head.

Last year, I shot 400s with a 100gr head and got a weak spine reaction... went to 340s and 125s.... never looking back. Arrows fly beautifully... and at 454 grs moving right at 280 fps.... they are packing a whallop.

^me too. im shooting the 340's at 64# with a 100 gr tip at 275 through my general, and they hit HARD. stable out to 60 yards(farthest ive shot) and they paper tune perfect. i love my axis setup. ive went through over 2 dozen in the last 3 years.
