I didn' t get to shoot them, the dealer wouldn' t let me, he let me hold one for about 30 seconds, then he put it on the shelf. I don' t know if that is a sign or not, but, he was talking alot of crap on other bow companies and saying that the new Alpines are faster, smoother, quieter, ect... than all other bow companies.

I went to a BowTech dealer and he let me shoot a 03 Patriot because the guy at the Alpine dealer said that " The new Patriot has so much handshock, that if you aren' t wearing a wrist sling, it will literally fly out of your hand" . Well, I shot it and the guy must be on something. The Patriot had the least amount of handshock and noise that I have ever seen from any bow. So, I just lost all confidence in the Alpine products because of one dealer.

Also, they are expensive. The dealer said that me " might be able to get the price down" and, the three bows he quoted were between 579.99 and 619.99. I would much rather buy a Hoyt, Mathews, or BowTech with that kinda money.

I have shot an Alpine. It was very nice.

It sounds to me like you have a crummy Alpine dealer, but don' t let that affect your confidence in the manufacturer. Every bow maker out there, has some less than ideal dealers representing their products. If I were you, I' d look at a different Alpine dealer if you are interested in the bow.

Well Straightarrow,

He is the only one I know around here, so, I ruled out buying any bow from there. I went to the BowTech dealer and these guys are TOP NOTCH. I honestly don' t think these guys could be any better. I bought a 2003 MightyMite there, and they gave me a great deal. It was originally priced at 599.99, but, it was on sale the week I was there for 576.99, but they gave it to me for an extra discount at 544.00 plus tax. That 55.99 was nice. I really love the bow and don' t plan on any bow shopping in the near future, but hey, next year I may find something interesting and have to start another project! :D

From what I felt of the Alpine' s, they are nice. They were a little heavy for me though. If they were a pound or so less that would have been a big bonus. I practice my form, so I don' t need a big heavy bow. I want something that is perfect for those tight spots and I can carry comfortablly for a long hike in the woods.

I guess alot of my disappointment really came after shooting the 03 Patriot. Like I said, the guys " personal shooting experience" had to have been entirely biased because that is one SWEET shooting bow. I just don' t like the feel of the long riser bows. After shooting that bow and honestly having no hand shock, I just didn' t even want to look at another Alpine. I was expecting the Patriot to be a good bow, but, the Alpine dealer (Full Draw Archery in Saltsburg Pennsylvania) made it out that the bow was bad and the Alpines were so much better, but, I honestly don' t know how any bow could be more shock free than that.

I shot the Fatal Impact and the Ravage....both were nice. I had the Ravage in contention when I was shopping earlier this year. The small dealer that' s local here had a very difficult time getting any in, and very poor communication from alpine as well. 3 clients of his bought and paid for various 03 models sight unseen and he wound having to refund their money as the 3 weeks turned into...3 mo. and everyone was miffed.
I probably would have got one as well after shooting them, fast, quiet and felt very good....less expensive than some others too.
